Learning About the Enneagram: The Power of Three

There are nine personality types in the Enneagram and they are divided into three groups based on how you process things. Do you go by your gut, your head, or your heart?

If you follow your heart, you could be a point 2, 3, or 4. If you’re like me and rely more heavily on your head, you could be a point 5, 6, or 7. And if you rely more heavily on gut feelings and instinct, you could be an 8, 9, or 1.

There are also three variants within each Enneagram Point. I’ll discuss these variants (Social, Sexual, and Self-Preservation) in a future post.

Type Twos are Part of the Heart Triad

Heart People have a fear of being worthless. If you struggle with the feeling that you lack value in yourself, you could be a heart person. Twos, threes, and fours have a need to be extraordinary to gain acceptance and love. Threes focus on success to gain acceptance and fours need to be unique. Twos put others first to gain love. Helpers are supportive and loving and can be really good friends.
